Hamburg

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany, has the second largest transoceanic port, without being at the sea. There is a distance of about 100 km down the Elbe to the North Sea.
You will still find a bit of beach feeling walking along the Elbe around “Övelgönne” or while resting at one of the beach bars during summer.
Aside from the popular tourist attractions, there are many other things to discover. There are e.g. the “Gängeviertel” with exhibitions, concerts and readings, the second largest park-like cemetery in the world, the “Ohlsdorfer Friedhof”, water features in “Planten und Blomen” in summer evenings, canoeing tours through many of the “Alster”-canals or a variety of alternative sightseeing walks and boat tours.
And Hamburg has of course many bars, pubs and clubs all around the “Kiez”.

There are also annual festivals for films, short films and international dance on “Kampnagel” or big festivities like the “Hafengeburtstag” or the “Cruise Days”.
