Our hostel is located right on the central "Goetheplatz" square.

Arrival by train

At the train station Weimar stops the InterCityExpress (Frankfurt – Weimar – Leipzig – Dresden) and the InterCity (Frankfurt – Weimar – Berlin).

  The walk from the train station directly to the hostel takes aprox. 10 minutes (1000 m). Leave the station via the main exit. Just walk straight down the street called "Carl-August-Allee". It changes names to "Weimarplatz", and afterwards to "Karl-Liebknecht-Straße". Keep on walking straight until you reach "Goetheplatz", a central square in Weimar where all the buses stop. You will find us on your right hand side, just after the bakery next to the main post office. The entrance is a side entrance in a courtyard entrance.

The bus takes aprox. 3 minutes from the station to the hostel. Go by bus 3, 6 or 7 for two stops to "Goetheplatz" bus-stop. You will get off right in front of the hostel. The entrance is on your left. You can buy directly the ticket in the bus for 1,90 Euro.

Arrival by bike

Two bike paths cross Weimar: the "Ilmtal-Radwanderweg" and the „Thüringer Städtekette-Radweg“.

If you are coming from Erfurt on the „Städtekette-Radweg“ you will directly pass the hostel. You will recognize the "Goetheplatz" (Goethe square) for the main post office and all busses that stop there. Just after the bakery next to the main post office.

If you are coming from Jena respectively Bad Berka or Buttelstedt you will have to leave the "Ilmtal-Radweg" at "Kegelbrücke". >From here you can follow the "Städtekette-Radweg" direction Erfurt / Weimar's downtown until you reach Goetheplatz. This way is well pointed, but not that beautiful. It is much more interesting and shorter by the way, if you cross the "Kegelbrücke". Leave the official bike path. Turn to the right after "Kegelbrücke" into the "Gerberstraße". It changes names, first into "Unterer Graben" and afterwards into "Graben". At the end of the street you will find the "Goetheplatz". You will recognize it for the main post office and all the busses that stop there. The hostel is just after the bakery.

Arrival by car

Please follow the hotel guidance system and the red accommodation pictogram .
Leave the motorway A 4 at the exit Weimar. Just follow the signs towards the centre of Weimar. You will drive on the "Rudolfstädter Straße",  afterwards it changes name into "Berkaer Straße". It will end at "Belvederer Allee", in front of you is the Ilm Park. Now turn to the left. Just stay on the main road until you reach "Goetheplatz" - "Belvederer Allee" changes names into "Marienstraße". Afterwards in a left turn it changes names into "Steubenstraße". Turn to the right at the next big intersection into "Gropiusstraße". Just behind the next traffic lights turn to the left into "Sophienstiftsplatz". On your right hand side you will see the back of the National Theater. Turn right after the following intersection with traffic lights to the "Heinrich-Heine-Straße". Now you drive straight and you will reach "Goetheplatz". The hostel is located on your left hand side, one building before the main post office building.

If you prefer to park without paying  (parking tickes) you will have to go a little bit further. Follow the main road, pass a pedestrian light towards the next set of traffic lights. You will be on "Karl-Liebknecht- Straße". In this intersection turn to the right into the "Friedensstraße" and keep going for about 300 m. Before the next intersection with traffic lights turn to the right into "F.-Freiligrath-Str." Now go straight until you reach "Untergraben". At this point turn to the right. Drive to its end, here you can park 30 minutes for free. …time enough to come to the hostel, check in and ask the receptionists for directions and free parking spots.

If you are coming from Erfurt on the B7, you will drive on "Erfurter Straße" (B85) to downtown. Before it changes names into "Gropius Straße", at the National Theater, turn to the left into "Heinrich-Heine-Straße". Go straight and you will reach "Goetheplatz". The hostel is located on your left hand side, one building before the main post office building. For indications how to get a 30 minutes free parking place follow the directions above.

If you are coming from Jena on the B7, you will drive on "Jenaer Straße" (B7) to downtown. Afterwards it changes names into "Friedensstraße". After crossing the river Ilm, you will get to an intersection with traffic lights. Here you follow the "Friedensstraße" to the left. On your right hand side you will see the Welcome-Center, the former Gauforum. Just right after the intersection with traffic lights you turn to the left to "F.-Freiligrath-Str." Go straight until you reach "Untergraben" Follow it to the right. Drive until its end, here you can park 30 minutes for free. …time enough to come to the hostel, check in and ask the receptionists for directions and free parking spots. The hostel is just above the "Graben" in the "Goetheplatz". The hostel is just after the bakery next to the main post office. The entrance is a side entrance in a courtyard entrance.
